Physicians of Mid-Atlantic Cardiothoracic Surgeons participate in many nationally and internationally recognized trials designed to identify new and improved treatment methods and protocols related to cardiac and thoracic surgical care while at the same time eliminating therapies and approaches to clinical care that are either ineffective or have been shown to be harmful.
The SCRI research coordinators working with the physicians of Mid-Atlantic Cardiothoracic Surgeons on these clinical trials are registered nurses with extensive experience in collaborating with government agencies and biomedical companies that sponsor these clinical research trials.
The ultimate goal for participating in clinical trials is to improve the clinical care delivery, patient outcomes and overall health of our community as it relates to cardiac and thoracic surgical care.
